Note for the use of cookies

The European 2009/136/CE directive regulates the use of cookies (small text files that are installed on a website visitor’s computer). This website uses “technical” cookies to allow safe efficient navigation, login, search activities and the caching of some contents. Below is a list of the cookies used on this site:

Technical, analytical and profiling Cookies

  • Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network. They can be subdivided into navigation or session cookies and ensure normal navigation and usage of the website.
  • Analytical cookies, similar to the technical cookies, are those used directly by a site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, about how many people visit a website and how they use it.
  • Profiling cookies are used to monitor and profile web users as they surf the web, to track their Internet browsing and usage habits in order to send them adverts for targeted and personalised services.
This website does not use profiling cookies.

Third party cookies

This website uses Google Analytics, a fremium web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. For more information read: Types of cookies used by Google, Google Analytics Cookie Usage on Websites and Data protection.

More information about the privacy adopted by Google and Google Analytics can be found on this link: questo link.

The website could also contain videos hosted on YouTube and/or Vimeo. For more information on their cookie usage policies, consult the respective websites.

Disabling cookies

The majority of browses accept cookies automatically, but users can generally change the settings of their browser to disable this function.

The "Help" section on the toolbar situated on the majority of browsers tells you how to stop receiving cookies, how to block other user-tracking technologies used by the browser, how to get the browser to warn you that you are receiving these technologies or how to disable them completely. Disabling the cookies could, however, limit your navigation around the website.

Any user who wishes to block only the cookies created by Google Analytics can consult this page: questa pagina.

There are various ways in which you can stop the “analytic” types of cookies from processing your personal data (as indicated by the The Italian Data Protection Authority):

  • Disabling third party cookies: generally speaking third party cookies are not essential for surfing the Internet so they can be disabled by default, changing the relevant settings on the browser.
  • Activating the Do Not Track feature: the Do Not Track feature is offered by the majority of the latest generation browsers. Websites designed to respect this option should, when it is activated, automatically stop collecting some of the information about your surfing. However, as we have said, not all websites are set to respect this option (discretional).
  • Activating the “private browsing” mode: this function allows you to navigate without leaving any trace of your surfing details in the browser. The websites you visit will not remember you, the pages you consult will be cleared from your browsing history and the new cookies will be deleted. The “private browsing” function does not however guarantee total anonymity on the Internet, because all it does its prevent the surfing details from being held in the browser, whereas they will instead continue to remain available to website operators and to connectivity providers.
  • Deleting the cookies directly: there are special functions for doing this in every browser. Every time you go online new cookies are downloaded, and so the removal operation needs to be carried out periodically. Some browsers offer automated systems for periodically deleting cookies.
