Geoveda Green Data Center

Larderello

The Data Centre is Italy's first eco-sustainable. The green data centre designed by In-Site will exploit geothermal energy produced in Larderello (PI), a site that is among the world's largest producers of geothermal energy: this is the heart of Italy's first eco-sustainable data centre. The complex will rise among the Tuscan hills and will have a completely "zero" CO2 impact.

In the new Data Centre project, this renewable and clean source of energy - derived from the earth's natural heat - will be used both to cool the server rooms and to power the servers and primary and backup devices, lowering the high temperatures that these devices reach for data processing, all at much lower costs than those generated by the use of traditional electricity.

This ambitious Italian project, promoted by the innovative start-up Geoveda, aims to create Green Data Centres, cooled and powered entirely by renewable energy, to host data servers and applications.
