In-site designed the new Eli Lilly Data Centre in Sesto Fiorentino (FI). The design approach is based on certain fundamental principles that are the result of a critical analysis of project requirements and criteria such as energy efficiency, security and optimisation of available space.
 

Starting from these considerations, the executive project was developed, which is based on the following points the separation of rooms and, partially, of paths in order to avoid that the maintenance activities related to the plant infrastructures interact with the normal IT management of the Data Centre; the security of the server room cell in terms of fire, water and anti-intrusion resistance; fire resistance EI 60/120, where appropriate, with smoke detection system and automatic intervention with extinguishing; and the use of the technical floor for the passage of water distributed to the units "in row" and for the passage of the electrical systems supporting the mechanical and IT systems.
